Engine Cooling problem

Great stuff on this website and repair forum -- I've learned that it's reasonable to be facing a $900 repair bill today after losing coolant like crazy this past week (but seeing no leaks).
What else should I make sure my mechanics check before I get my truck back? I'm putting about 300 miles on it a week and that's going to double soon.
