Hi there,

Did you have the head crack tested and checked for bend?

no the head was really stained with oil and i hand sanded it and just visually checked everything the cylinders look'd like they were in great condition cant really afford to have someone else look at it.
I dont think its cracked or bent

i just want to figure out what else i need to replace this started about a week ago and i havent driven it since i noticed it. I drove through about 4 ft of water but the truck has 40" tires and a 12" lift kit on it. Its 30 years old and was running great till I did that yet its been used as a mud truck for a long time.

when i start it it runs without smoking for about 30 seconds then it seems when the thermostat on the hose coming out of the top of the radiator goin to the intake manifold clicks on it starts blowing white smoke if i squeeze this hose it REALLY starts smoking.. :C

Cracked heads are often not visible with the naked eye, often they are inside the valve ports, these alloy heads do bend & twist you only need .015" or so bend foe a problem, i do feel that the head is the problem and it needs looking at professionally,
