Toyota Carolla DX 92 (automatic)
We have changed axles due to the damage of the CVs several days ago. Since then, the car seemed to be normal till yesterday. Yesterday, after driving about 30 meters, the car stopped proceeding as if the transmission was in neutral. I attempted to change the gear (R, D, 2, L), and it did not do anything. We suspected that the fluid was too low, so we added the fluid. But, it does not work still.

Do you have any idea?

Could be your differential. I broke mine while slowing
down on an exit ramp. Seems to be a weakpoint with
89-92 Corollas.

I have a 91 corolla and experienced the same problem. The transmission shifter linkage in the engine compartment was checked first. Then the AT fluid level. Both were okay. I suspect you have a faulty new part if one was even installed if you trust your mechanic or actually saw the new parts coming in. The passenger side axle (the longer one) was my problem. Without it being in good condition, the trasmission will not move the car. Tell your mechanic to inspect it again.
