I have a 2003, MR2, sequential shift car with 45,000 miles.. The transmission has started slipping. I took it to Toyota dealer for repairs. Was told I have leak in hydraulic system and transmission. Repair cost estimate is $6,000. I was told this is a rare problem, for this particular vehicle. Do these repair cost sound reasonable. Ever hear of this happening before?

Could be a sensor TPS/VSS causing it to slip or a shift solenoid, valve body problem but for the much I can get me a new one or go cheaper with the junkyard
