overheating land cruiser

i have a 1996 75 series toyota landcruiser
350000km 4.2 litre deisel.have replaced radiator ,water pump,thermostat and timing belt to help allieviate over heating.runs alright most of the time .but will over heat under load .then return to normal .will run fine at speed then get hot all of a sudden .slow down speed 10-20 kmph it will slowly return to normal increase speed and will run fine again until the same thing happens again.external temperature seems to make little difference hot or cold the same thing can happen

car does not have thermostatic electric cooling fan

check the belt for tension.

have tightened all belts .replaced coolant .still same problem

how is the circulation while heating up. what does the temperature guage read. a partly opened thermastat would make the same signs. letting little circulation get through and when you put a load on it would make it overheat. have seen new thermastats that were bad.

Hey mate having exact the same problem, my email is [email protected] im going to replace the water pump and see if it fixes. I have also replaced the Radiator, Thermostat and Clutch fan,
can you let me know how you get on?

Most overheating are from , clogged radiator, sticking thermastat, air in the system, a circulating prob;em {air in the line} or cooling fans not operating right. Check the air conditioning core in front of the radiator and see if it is clear of any thing like leaves pine needles or anything else. A lot of people think that running without a thermastat the engine will run cooler. What happens in that case is that the fluid circulatess too fast and does not have a chance to cool off as it circulates through the radiator. Check your lines to see if one is pinched or cutting off the cirulation.
