2003 Toyota Echo Car stearing wheel shakes at 65 MPH only

My stearing wheel shakes at from about 64-66 MPH only, but is fine at every other speed. I got new tires about 2 years ago but haven't had them rotated in a while. Is this a larger problem?

My air conditioning also is making sort of a low, steady clicking sound only when it's turned on as well.

Steering wheel vibrations at specified speeds are usually caused by imnbalance of the tires. Get the wheels balanced and see if problm is resolved.

As to the compressor clicking on and off while turned on, it could be a bad clutch or excessive freon in system. Was any repairs done to the AC system recently?

Thanks! I made an appointment with my tire shop. I just want to make sure it's safe to drive? Even though I've been driving it this way for a while.

No AC repairs have been made to my car recently. I did have my car jump started and the battery replaced, could something have been nudged? Otherwise I just take my car to Jiffy lube for oil changes.

This site is great. I will recommend it and use it again!

Low idling speed would cause the compressor to cut in and out. Jump starting or replacememnt of the battery could cause the PCM to reset and this can cause the idling speed to be affected. Recheck the idling speed and if it is too low, get the throttle body and IAC cleaned to stabilise the idling speed.

Unless the vibration is felt at all speed ranges and conditions, it is safe to drive the vehicle.
