no brake lights with headlights on

We have a 1993 Toyota Corolla with 256,000 miles and a 1.8 engine. One problem we have is when the headlights are on, the brake lights stay on. ring daytime driving, the brake lights work fine. I have checked all the brake bulbs and made sure they are in the sockets the right way.

well, be sure that the bulbs are the right-ones, sometimes they 'fit" good but there is different "kind" of bulbs.... two or single pin two or single filament..
check that and get back to me..
