Hello, my car noise was diagnosed as being the drivers side lower ball joint that needs to be replaced. I suppose now I'm driving an unsafe car as this can go at any time. Any advice on the best way to deal with this.

It is a 1990 Toyota Corolla LE and has 173.000 miles on it.

It depends on who diagnosed it. If the tech was trying to sell a ball joint or if it was real problem. Hvae a second opinion. If it is bad, have it replaced. There is a Toyota ball joint recall but it applys to trucks.
