Can't take car out of park

I have a 1994 automatic Corolla. Last night I was driving and noticed that my dashboard lights were not on. Then I pulled to the side of the road and put my car in park. When I was ready to go my car would not come out of park. Also, I noticed my rear lights were not working at all. My car is the bare minimum car, nothing fancy to it. There is no release button to press to take the car out of park. Thanks
