I have a 1998 Corolla with 12000 miles on it. I broke down out of town recently and had my car towed to a nearby dealership. They stated that the bolt that anchors one of my serpentine belt pulleys to the block broke, and that they will have to pull the engine to see if they can drill it out. They are not confident they will be able to remove the bolt, and think it will be necessary to replace the engine. This seems excessive. Any less drastic measures available?
