i recently crashed my car. i was going about 40mph and my car slid into a curb in the rain. my driver side front tire hit the curb really hard and cracked the rim a little bit. the axle is also broken. I'm not sure what is also broken. i don't want to take it to the dealership because it will cost an arm and a leg to fix.also i don't want to tell my insurance company because my insurance will go up all year and the deductible is 1000.00.so my car just sits in my driveway for the past month or so broken and i continue to pay for it.

If you don't have any body damage, I would take it to any repair shop to have them fix the axle, control arm (trust me, it is bent), and an alignment. Then, find another wheel to replace the damaged one, you are good to go.

the side is damaged becuz the wheel was touchin the inside of the body of the car. when i crashed i went to open my door and it was stuck so i forced it open and i bent the body of the car. so it looks like i hit something but it didnt hit anything.me forcin the door open bent the body.how much do u think a new axle would cost and re alignment? my friend said there might be internal damage to the car maybe the drive shaft or transmission could possibly be messed up too?thank you for all your help. it is greatly appreciated!

I am not a body guy, so I can't say how much to fix the body damage. If the door is the only part that is bent, you may be able to find a used door from a wrecking yard, somewhere.

However, I can steer you to get the mechanical parts of the car to get you going.

The proper name for drive shaft on front wheel drive vehicle is constant velocity drive axle. It will be about $85 (Automatic with ABS A1 Cardone 60-5218) . When you purchase, specify that your vehicle options (automatic, with or without ABS), most CV axles are sold with a core charge which is refundable upon return of the old part. Lower control arm will run you $120 (McQuay Norris FA4310). You can save some money by doing the work yourself with help from friends (Labor is rated at 4.5 hours = $about 400 give or take).

Alignment is another $60 roughly, depending on where you live. That is it as far as parts go.
