My 2006 corolla seemed to sound loud when going
doing the street at a speed of about 40-45. Car drove and handled ok just seemed louder than
usual. Could this be the exhaust or the intake
manifold?

Hi there,

Lift the bonnet and start the engine, if you can hear a choofing noise, you may have a blown exhaust manifold gasket, or a cracked manifold, otherwise the problem may be further down the exhaust system, you may need the car on a hoist to inspect propplery.
