My mechanic suggested a new battery. I went to Costco and read their manual.

Their manual stated to be careful about replacing some 2004 Toyota's batteries since it may require re-routing some wires.

Please advise

Thanks

The problem is would have with rerouting wires is if you had the wrong battery.

Never heard that you had to re-route wires?

Disconnect negative cable first, then hold down, then positive, then battery.

4-5 years is usually the average life of a battery.

Why would you have to reroute wires for a new battery? The only reason I could see is if you had the wrong battery or if you were moving the battery.

I agree with Steve on this, the other possibility is you have a stereo system wired directly to battery?
