Rear Power Window

Probably a bad motor or limit switch. Generally the armrests are bolted in as well as the opening lever, the panel itself is held in place by plastic retainers, and pulls out and up.

Hi! I recently shattered my drivers side rear window just by touching it. I donnot want to get it repaired professionnally because they are charging me 500$! How do I dismantle my door to instal a used window? I saw your video on changing wiondow motor but is the glass on the same side as the motor? how can I get to the glass? thx for the help!

Use the car repair link in this thread or get a Haynes manual.

You will have to remove the interior door panel, unbolt the window from the regulator and clean up all the glass fragments.
You can get replacement glass from any auto glass supplier, or Toyota, or from a junkyard.

Also make sure the regulator is not putting the glass in a bind, which could cause it to shatter.

I am planning to replace the broken rear window (roll-down window) of my 1996 Toyota Corollia. A few years ago, I had the window replaced by a professional, and it only took them 10 minutes. I figure that it shouldn't be impossible for an amateur like me to do it. I could save $100 by doing it myself.

I assume that I have to remove the panel. Could I just pop the window in after that, or is it a lot more complicated? Do you have any suggestions? What kind of tools would I need? I'd appreciate any advice you can give me.

Open both door panels at the back and check the motor connection.
