I just need to know when the average mileage for my toyota corolla would be for replacing my timing belt, I have recieved varying opinions, I have had the tranny flushe, but I dont want to take a chance on a breaking timing belt, I live in oregon, with moderate temeratures, if that makes a difference thankyou

This model year has a timing 'chain'. It does not require replacement.. although the tensioner that holds the belt in place may need occasional adjustment.

Toyota switched to timing chains in 98, with 1ZZFE engine as opposed to older 4AFE.

There is no scheduled replacement for the chain. The chain is enclosed in an aluminum housing, while belt has plastic cover.

Check your owners manuals maint. schedule.
