Electrical problem
1999 Toyota Corolla 4 cyl Automatic

Hello
I have a problem with my headlights. When I turn the car on they automatically turn on but, within a few seconds they turn off. The high beams do not work at all. When i manualy switch the lights to high beams and back to headlights nothing turns on. The fuses have all been checked, headlights bulbs have been both replaced, I was told it might be the headlight switch, so I took my steering wheel appart to get to the switch to make sure it wasnt burned off. The contact plate had a bit of corrosion I fixed it but the headlights still turn off. Both high beams and headlight relays under the hood have been replaced. I've been told it could possibilty be another relay or loose wires behind my glovebox, but before i take my glovebox appart. Any suggestions as to what it could be?

Autoheadlights are controlled by Automatic Light Control Sensor, which is on top left side of dash.

By your description, the sensor is bad.
