The new car battery was fitted in my car a week ago.
The charging rate is 12.43V at idle rate. The battery is locally manufactured. I bought this japanese second hand car 10 months ago and it seems the old Japan made battery was more powerful than the new one. The car is fully loaded and everything is running smoothly (power windows etc) but now I have to play the stereo at the higher volume to get the same output. Is there any linkage between battery and stereo output?

Also the battery cells seem to be worn out unlike the old one. Is this the normal appearance?

Get rid of that generic battery -and have the alternator load tested- 12.43 volts at idle is not to specs should be 13.5-15.50 volts. It looks as though the battery is sulfated not taking the charge.

The charge rate is a bit low, what is it at a higher rev range, With a min of 12V the radio should work fine, Have the alternator checked and get the battery load tested, if it is a cheap battery it may be no good.
