I have a 1995 Toyota Corolla. My temperature gauge doesn't work while I am driving it. But if I drive it then turn it off for awhile and start it the gauge will read a temperature that seems to be accurate until I start driving again and it just stops registering any temperature. What could be the problem? I thought maybe the temp sensor? Please help.

Most likely the gauge sending unit or connection to it.

While the gauge itself can be bad, the sender is most likely the culprit.
