I need to replace the axle on my girlfriends car. Im familiar with classic volswagens and BMW 2002s. Easy cars to work on but I know a lot about them. Recently my girlfriends daughter gave her a 95 toyota corolla that needs a passenger side axle replaced. Is there any reason I wouldn't be able to do this with a set of basic tools, jack stands and a BFH? Any tips or things I should be looking for?

Put on stands for safety, remove stone shields. You will need to remove the axle bolt, if you do not have air tools, loosen the nut before you raise car.
Then remove caliper (hang out of way), caliper bracket, lower ball joint (three bolts hold it to lower control arm), remove axle nut and pull strut from ball joint and axle out.
Pry axle out of trans. housing. It's a good idea to replace seal. Install new axle and when done refill the differential housing.
