1995 Toyota Corolla Evaporator Repair for 1995 Corolla

I have a 1995 Corolla that still runs perfectly. A couple of weeks ago I noticed the A/C went out and so I went to an auto parts place & recharged the R134a. In two days the A/C was again nonfunctional.

I took it into the shop and the owner/mechanic said there was a leak around the evaporator and that a repair would be $900.00 because it is hard to get to the evaporator.

2 questions: Is the evaporator that hard to get to?
How should I go about getting second opinions? Thank you!

It say's 2.9hr's labor time's shop labor rate 80-100 per hr?Plus part's it doesn't look that hard look's like you have to remove the glove box and take apart the a/c box.Some car's you have to remove the dash your car isn't that way.I found a evaporator core for 75 i don't what else he was planning on replacing but 900 sound's high even if you add the price of the r-134 charge.If you wanted a second opinion you would have to take it to a shop so they could charge the system with dye and trace the leak down.But you would have to pay them to do that.
