My daughters 95 Corolla has an intermittent problem where the idle will climb to 2K and then drop to 800 or 900 and cycle like that. Occasionally it will stay at 2k and occasionallly it will idle fine.
I replaced the air filter, it was pretty bad and it seemed to be ok. Coincidence? It has gone back to the erratic idle since.
Some things I read indicate the EGR valve and some say to clean it.
Any help is appreciated.
