Just picked up a 94DX and the drivers PW wasnt working right. Motor was making noises so I pulled the panal and the cables were a mess. I ordered a new regulator and motor, installed it and it went down but not up. I checked for power at the harness that plugs into the motor. There's only 2 wires and one gets power when the window switch is in the up position and the other has juice in the down position so it appears the motor is getting power in both positions. I plugged the old motor back in thinking maybe it was a defective motor but it does the same thing, works going down but not up. I'm stumped because both motors are getting power in both directions and they both don't work going up, so I wouldn't think the new one is defective. Am I missing something here? Any input would be appreciated. TIA

dave this works off of reverse polarity so in one direction it gets power on one wire and the other direction its opposite. your problem is most likely a bad window switch. the wire that has power down should have a ground on up. place a ground on that wire and hit the switch up and this will atleast make your window roll up. hope this helps

Thanks Tim. Makes sense. That would mean the switch isn't grounding the down wire when the switch is in the up position since the motor is getting power. I'll try what you suggest and if it works I guess a new switch is in order.
