1994 Toyota Corolla LE with 130K miles.
Car stopped suddenly. It cranks but does not turn over. Towed to mechanic who said electricity was flowing into distributor but not out of it.
To save money, I replaced the distributor with a new one myself.
However, I forgot to set the Cylinder 1 to "0" position before replacing.
Now, car will not still turn over (it cranks). There is no spark at the sparkplug end, and the coil is also new (its built into the distributor).
Question is: Can not setting the Cylinder 1 to position "0" cause no spark? If this is the case, it will be worth my time to remove distributor and reset Cyl 1 etc. If not, what else might be wrong that I check before resetting Cylinder 1 ?
thanks!
