You don't have an inertia switch try this block open the airflow meter flap and see what happens and then get back.

Short B+ and Fp terminals on the diagnostic port, if pump runs, the fuse, relay. If not then pump or wiring to it.
This procedure bypasses the fuse and relay and sends 12V directly to pump.

How do I get access to the air flow meter flap? Is it the same as the throttle body flywheel controlled by the gas pedal wire?

Did you do what Mr. Prince suggested ?-Did the fuel pump come On.

There was significant gunk in the diagnostic port. Checked with a voltmeter, showed ~40 ohms, shorted it with scrap wire but didn't work.

The gunk is a substance to keep the connectors free from corossion.

Get a paperclip, or make a wire with two small male connectors. Shape into "U" and insert one end in Fp and the other in B+.

Pump should run, if not, then FP relay or fuse.

Tried paperclip, got sparks within the diagnostic port, yet no fuel pump. Checked the circuit opening relay in front of the ECU and the engine main relay in junction box #2. Both checked good with an ohmmeter. After that, checked spark with the plugs and nothing. Looked at the rotor (slightly worn) and replaced. Haven't tried it again yet due to low battery. Any other ideas due to a bump or shake? Have checked all electrical connections in engine compartment/fuel connections and nothing is amiss. ??

I took a small piece of wire and crimped two small metric pak male connectors to each end to short the pump connections in the diagnostic port.

You may have to drop tank if this does not work and you cannot confirm pump is working.

It may be the "bump" dislodged the pressure hose in the fuel pump, or the strainer.

Replaced ignition coil.....charged the battery....still no spark. The engine turns over, definitely turns the distributor but still no spark. Loosened bolt at fuel rail where fuel filter line is connected and had definite fuel coming out....What am I missing? I have the factory repair manual so I can follow any advice....The car died while driving so I don't think its a starter issue... Could a connection to the ECU be bumped and stop the engine?

Could be no power to the coil, distribiutor pick-up coil and the ignitor

Hook up a timing light to the wires, one at a time. Look for the flashing that would indicate it is firing, if none, then most likely the ignitor.

Have you checked to see if you have any codes stored. Also you need to check to see if the check engine light is illuminated when the key is in the on position. If the check engine light is not on you will need to see if your fuses are good and check for any loose connections or a bad relay.

already checked fuses and relays and connections...is there any input to the ECU that would cause the ECU to stop the electrical signal?

Yes, if you loose power to the engine ecu the check engine light will not illuminate and the engine will not start. Let me know if the check engine light is not on when you have the key in the on position.
