1990 Toyota Corolla Exhaust pipe between manifold & cat

The pipe rotted where it hooks into the converter and is completely separated. One the other end one screw broke off leaving a one inch space between the pipe and manifold.It is very loud but have been driving it this way for two weeks. One day the engine light came on but went off when filled with gas and hasn't turned on since.

I am hoping to get it fixed in about two weeks and am wondering if by driving the vehicle any damage is or will be done to the engine or anything?

The only thing is gonna happen is you'll be burning extra fuel bcuz the O2 sensor is tracking a lean fuel mixture and the computer is compensating adding fuel when not needed also the noise

In addition to the great advice by Raz:

Exhaust leaks can burn wiring/sensors that is near it, so get it repaired or you CAN cause significant damage.

I have an appointment to fix the car this Friday. So far the car is running okay, and the engine light hasn't gone on.

I bought the pipe at Auto Zone for $123.00. The pipe's from Bosol and comes with a lifetime warranty.

Thank you and this site for the quality car advice...I'm hoping to hear you guys on your own radio station someday.

When you're done with the piping -get a gas analysis to check out the converter if its scrubbing the gases accordingly
