Transmission problem
1989 Toyota Corolla Manual 300000 miles

Our clutch has always been very "spongy" and not much play. A friend used the car for 5 mins the other day and the clutch just stopped working. There is definitely a leak cuz we've always had to refill fluid on a weekly basis. My questions to you are: Is the slave cylinder located at the front of the engine at the linkage point, or is it the smaller of the two master cylinders at the firewall? And, if the leak is definitely under in the front of the engine, somewhere just lower than the bleeder, what else could it be?

Thanks, D

Hi
Slave is on transaxle towards front. About where your leak is. The smaller of two cylinders on firewall is the clutch. Would be best if both where replaced due to age and milage. Hope this helps.
Let me know if you need more info.
