My cooling fan is on right from start up when cold and does not turn off? I also have a check engine light that popped up and I think its related.

There is a small white round connector under dist. in coolant block, this is fan switch.

Either fan switch is bad or relay is stuck. Check connection to fan switch.

Check fan relay's and "engine main" relay.

So what do I need to do to get rid of these codes?

Disconnect the battery (-) for 5 minutes to erase codes, if they come back on, then further repair is necessary.

if they come back you have to change the sensor. its weird you have carburetor and it stores code 41.

It is also possible the ECM is bad, or that some 89's had FI but used a common ECM with a different PROM.
