I have been driving a manual ever since I started driving and this is the first time this issue has come up. I had the clutch on my car replaced at about 105,000 miles and drove it with no issues for a couple of years. Recently however, takeing off in a smooth fashions now requires me to ride the clutch quite heavily. If I don't, the car bounces and surges when I try to take off. The same issue happens when I reach lower speeds, the car starts to surge despite being only in second gear. The same problem happens again when I try to go over any small bumps (such as a speed bump) the car starts to surge heavily as if I am trying to take off and not giving it enough gas. I apprecaite the adive and help

Hi Jack_Rabbit,

I don't believe it is anything to do with the clutch. Should be the engine misfiring causing the problem.

Check out the spark plugs and cables.
