Squealing belts?

TOYOTA CELICA

I have the 2000 Toyota Celica GTS with 24500 miles on it. I just bought it a few months ago. It seems to squeal when started and seems to do less so after use.

The car mechanic suggested I get "belt dressing" and put on it. The NAPA parts dealer told me that belt dressing works with older cars but would be destructive on my car (he gave some convoluted reason).

Should I change something? What belts? Is this expensive?

Thanks.

The belt dressing makes a mess on your pulleys..
better replace the belts...
and check for proper tension on them.

if outside belts need replacing so does the T-Belt, try a crayon to quiet belts,

t-belt replacement= 4 yrs or 60k miles
