Hi,
I have a 2000 Toyota Celica gt that is burning oil-it went through 2 quarts in the last 175-200 miles. There is no black smoke from the exhaust, the car runs smoothly, starts fine-drives fine. There are no oil leaks that could be found-had two mechanics take a look at it. The PCV valve is in pretty good working condition, and there was only a slight amount of oil in bottom of the filter box. It has no problems picking up speed, is great on gas, handles well, but I've gone through appx 6 quarts of oil in 500-600 miles. None of the other valves seem to be leaking. There is some black residue in the tailpipe, but there is not any smoke coming from it upon starting the engine, idling, or running. I hope that is enough information. What do you recommend?? Is there anything else I check over or have replaced?

If there's no physical leakage-you must be burning it in the combustion chamber-Get the engine compression checked out and go from there.
