Hi, I have a 2.2L 5SFE '92 Celica GT with 227,000 miles now. The car drives fine except under heavy or moderate acceleration. Under these conditions the car shudders relatively violently. As soon as I release the throttle, it stops. It seems to do it the most at about 3000 RPM's. My car is a manual. What could this be?

P.S. I think my clutch is going out, could that cause violent shuddering like that?

To me it sounds like the CV axles are worn out, here is how to change them out, when they get worn the CV joints do not work smoothly which causes the vibration.

Please go over this guide as well to get more information.
