I'm getting an estimate of $400-$450 to replace a water pump for a 1999 Toyota Camry with 126k miles.

The timing belt has already been replaced, don't remember what I paid for it.

Does that sound legit or is it steep ?

I'm thinking that 126k miles out of a water pump is probably

Thanks!

i have the same model year, 170,000 miles.
i had both the timing belt and the water pump replaced last month.
cost was right at $425.00 if memory serves correctly.
keep in mind I did the alternator and power steering belts myself so all the shop did was the timing belt and water pump.

seems kind of high to me, but i do most of the easy work myself. I would talk to some of you neighbors about this. Water pumps are not very difficult to change out.
