I have a 96 camry and I just got a new axle now the repair man said the left side need to be repaired. I thought if I repaired my axle it was just one axle. I paid $700 for that. The is a tray hang from my car and my car will not drive in drive and if it in park the car still move.

There are two front axles that are separated and driven by the transaxle.

Did he diagnose it?

If he diagnose the problem and didn't clearly convey that there may be other problems, then he should hold some responsiblity. Especially if you paid to have it diagnosed. I'm not sure how you bill is broken down, but labor to change the axle is just a little over an hour. If the labor rate is 100/hr that still only 125.00, say the part he is charging you for is$150.00 (with his mark up).

towing is another hundred that makes up $375 and tax takes you to $410.....where does the other $290 come into play?

You need to talk to him about making this right if this wasn't clear to you.
