Last summer I replacesed the head gaskets on my 90 Camry. It was a pretty big job and I'll admit I made a few mistakes. I also learned a few things. I had a leaky head gasket and 4 years ago I had someone do the job. 3 years later I'm having the same problem, so I decided I was just going to do it myself.

The one major mistake I made was not torquing the rear cam Timing Belt pully and it got loose, shredded and needed replaced. That's been repaired. Now I have a Mass Air Flow problem (code 31 if anyone is familiar). I tested the MAF with an ohm meter. The Haynes says VC and E2 should be 200-400 ohm, I have 185.5 I don't believe that would be low enough for a short, but I'm here looking for opinions. I am going to take it off and bench test it when I get home, but I need to go to work.

I have also done a continuity test on the wirire to the ECU and that's good. I also got an ECU from the junk yard. Although I know there's a possibility that the used unit may be bad, I just find it very unlikely to be the same exact circuit that is bad.

So if this sounds like something you may have encountered or just have any ideas I would apreciate it.

thanks

I couldn't find anything else wrong so I broke down and bought one off EBay. 50 bucks and runs like a dream now. So if anyone else was wondering 15 too few ohms is enough to be off apparently.
