2004 Toyota Camry flooding

It sounds like an EVAP problem. Has the check engine light come on?

yes the check engine light has been on, took it in to dealership, they couldn't find anything and turned it off, now has been back on for a few weeks. Starts and runs fine except after refueling.

Take the car to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the computer for codes. Most will do it for free. Let me know what the code it they find. It will most likely be an EVAP code, but I need to know.

yes, i took it to autozone and it was an evap code, they thought it might be something with the gas cap.
any other ideas?

As soon as they see an EVAP code, they say it's the cap. Chances are there is a leak in the system but not the cap. If I had to guess, I would say there is a vent that is plugged and not allowing fuel to enter the tank without forcing it to the engine or charcoal canister thus causing it to flood.

To find the problem, I need to know exactly what code they found. EVAP is a very generic code. The computer can be more specific because there are several codes that pertain to the EVAP system.

I know this sounds confusing, but it needs scanned again and I need to know the exact code they are getting. Otherwise you'll need to take it to a shop where they recognize the different codes related to the EVAP system. It could be many things within that system. I assure you, it isn't the fuel cap.
