Hi, Sir

I have 2004 Toyota Camry, running around 4,1000 miles then changed the two front bake pad. Right now, it is about 4,5000 miles. My wife complained to me the brake is soft and I tried that. Yes, it is soft and I need to press the brake padle a little further to stop the car.

Around Februrary 2006, I took my car to the auto garage to change oil. I found the the cap for brake oil tank missing when I do the regular check up in December 2006. During this time (02/06-10/06), I didn't take my car to change oil instead that I changed oil by myself. I believed I lost the brake oil tank cap ( the cap for brake oil tank) at that time. Anyway, I just use the plastic sheet wrap the brakeoil tank tight from 10/06 until now.

My question is that is it possibile the brake is soft because the cap missing for 10 months( before I found it.). The air or dirt may come into the brake tank. The air or dirt may go into the brake oil tube. Then it may cause the brake hydraulic problem and brake soft??????? Or other reasons cause like that.

If you agree this is the reason, so I will buy the new cap ( deal quote me $30.00) and have the dealer to change brake oil for me. Then, I can get the air or dirt out. So, the brake will function well.

Please let me know is my theory right? Or give me some advises. like why the brake is so soft.

Sincerely yours

Abang

If there's no actual fluid leakage from the lines/caliper and wheel bearings there's probably air in the system get it bleed out and see what happens-
