Serpentine belt replacement?

It is coming from one one the pulleys. Overtime, the bearings inside the pulley can and do go bad, and that is what happens to you. If you are doing the work yourself, remove the serpentine belts, and spin each pulley, one at a time. You will hear the bad sounds way different than the others..

Will I break down if my serpentine belt or air conditioner belt brakes?

Yes, you will eventually. You will immediately lose your power steering and alternator. That will run the battery down until the car dies. This will happen quicker at night.

I have camry with 190k miles i was planning to change the timing and water pump from Toyota dealer.My Question is that after changing my timing belt and water pump is there any problem which can come up after installing means like Tramission, Heating problem or any other because currently everything works great.
Please drop advise so i can take action.

There shouldn't be a problem with the tranny and heating after the installation if performed correctly by the numbers step by step

how do you adjust the drive belt and if my car contunes to make nose in the front passenagers wheel than what else can it be than. It wasn't making the nose when i first got it but once i changed the timing belt and then put everything back together then it started to make the nose so i dont think i need a new belt.

If belts old then should be replaced

Your car needs a new belt

My power steering belt is worn, can I drive without one? Just in case it breaks on my way to get the replacement. Also, should I change anything else? Water pump........pulleys , accessories , tensioners? Not a mechanic but I really need help on this one. Thank you and your feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Don't worry, I'll help. I need to know something. Is there only one belt or does the power steering have its own belt? From what I can see on our homepage, there is a seperate belt for the PS. let me know.

Yes the PS has its own belt separate from alternator.

Okay... If the power steering belt breaks, you will lose power assist at the steering wheel. In other words, it will get hard to turn the steering. As far as driving it like that, you will need to be careful, but it won't damage anything unless the belt hits something when it comes apart.

How bad is the belt? It really takes a lot for them to break.

If it is starting to unravel, you really need to get it replaced. As I mentioned, if the belt breaks, it won't cause any damage to the car, but it will become very hard to drive.

i had a water pump and timing belt put on 3 months ago. after these were put on i had to start warming my car up before it would go past 5 miles an hour. i never had to do this before. now when i slow down for a car to turn then step on the gas to take off again it chugs or hesitates 2 or 3 times then it goes. is this just a coincedence that this started after they worked on my car or did he put something in wrong?

it sounds like the timing is off. id bring it back and have them drive it. if the belt is off a tooth it will do as you are describing. let us know how you make out

Back off pivot bolt at top off alternator, back off adj pinch bolt 12mm this is the one through adj arm onto alternator. adj alternator with long adjuster bolt, (below pinch bolt) Do not over tighten, tighten pinch bolt and pivot bolt.

Where is and how do you loosen the pivot bolt on the power steering pump? How do you get to it?

You gave me the power Steering figure from the Toyota Factory Repair manual. I have that manual. You have not concisely answered my question. I can't see or locate the pivot bolt so that I may loosen it. The space around the Pwr Strg Pump is very restrictive. Once I know where it is, how and with what do I loosen it? The enclosed picture shows the location on the right side of the car.

the bolts are shown in pic...one bolt on top of the PS pump is the pivot bolt, the bottom bolt is the adjusting bolt. you need to loosen the top bolt and then turn the bottom bolt until tension is off of the belt.
