I have a 1999 Toyota Camry and three months ago we replaced the fuse that controls the dome light, clock and power door locks. The fuse blew again and we think it's something in the electrical system but not sure what exactly. Everything else seems to be okay and the doors do work when the car is running.

Is the fuse used of the correct rating?

When fuse blows, there must be a shorting somewhere and being intermittent, that would not be easy to diagnose.

You have to test the circuits of all the components using the fuse.

Yes, the fuse is of the correct rating. I was told it has something to do with the electrical system but they need time to check the entire electrical system.

I'll mention testing the circuits of all the components using the fuse to my mechanic.

The Dome fuse is used by the following components.

1. Cigarette lighter and Clock
2. Combination meter.
3. Headlight (w/Daytime Running Light)
4. Interior light
5. Key reminder and seat belt warning.
6. Light Auto turn off
7. Moon roof
8. Theft deterrent
9. Wireless door lock control.

Any of the above could cause the fuse to blow.

Cigarette lighter would be easiest to check.
Remove cigarette lighter and install fuse.
If fuse does not blow, engage the cigarette lighter and check the fuse again.

Operate those components listed if applicable and test if any component cause the fuse to blow.
