Hi Pros,

Good day!

Couple of weeks back my mechanic by mistake suddenly dropped my car from the front centre jack and it landed heavily. Since then, I have been having rough idling coupled with engine splutter and vibration. Engine also groans when accelerated. On three different occassions car started very rough and engine stalled. Had to restart and accelerate hard to get it going. On each of these occassions, the car was parked in hot sun for over 6 - 7 hours. When the car is started first time in the morning, it sounds healthy but when the engine gets hot after driving for a while, it starts groaning on accelartaion. I checked for vaccum leak and found none. Checked leads and plugs and found them OK. By the way, there was no Check Engine Light (CEL). I removed EGR position sensor and replaced it with an old one which was throwing a CEL and suddenly the engine started sounding very healthy again. But , now I have CEL on the dash.

I am a bit confused - is it the EGR position sensor or some other heat sensor playing up?

Thanks for your help.
