My power steering hose is leaking. I am a widow and I ordered the hose from O'reilly's and it will be here in the morning. I was wondering if this was something I could have a friend change? He is mechanically inclined but is it difficult and if it is, how much should I pay a mechanic to do this? Thank you.

Hello
Thanks for the donation.

Labor costs for replacing the power steering hose should be around $75. This may change depending on location of repairs.

Replacing the hose is not very difficult, but accessing the hose will be the biggest issue. He/she may have to remove other components such as vacuum hoses, fender aprons, drive belt etc.. If access is easy and components do not need removed then removal/installation should be a breeze.

Hope this helps..
