We recently bought this car. It seems to run great, the only unusual thing is that when slowing down from highway speed, when you apply the brakes, it is not smooth. the car vibrates. It is fine when going slowly. I also noticed sort of an "electric train" smell near the front wheels after coming off the highway. Does that sound like a brake pad problem, or something else?

Hi frannienewbold,

The vibration during high speed braking are due to warping or out of lateral front rotors.

If the rotors are within specs for refacing, get them done.

The smell could be due to the front pads heating up. Check the calipers for stuck piston or stiff slider bolts.
