1994 Toyota Camry water transfer hose

Heater problem
1994 Toyota Camry 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a leak smells like coolant coming from near the intake manifold; the manual names this as the water transfer hose (hose goes from engine to heater) Is this the only other hose that is located in the area? Dealer does not have this and I the info on type and sizing of hose; can a generic one be used? What is the easiest way to complete this repair?

Thank you but can you clarify for me. The Haynes manual calls this the water transfer hose and to get to it you need to open up the intake manifold; is there another way to get this done?

Hi there . there will be 2 heater hose, these can be purchased after market with out a problem, to replace cool engine, remove clamps from hose ends, with a blade slice down hose to free it from the fitting, (if you try and twist the heater end you may damage the heater box) from memory there is a small hose from the heater tap as well best to replace that as well, remove thermostat and flush cooling system with fresh water, also carefully flush out the heater core, renew thermostat and seal, replace hoses, add coolant mix as required, run engine with heater on till temp is normal and heater is hot, re check coolant next day and re check for any signs of leaks at the hoses you replaced.

Hi there, sorry for the delay in responding,
Ok i have worked out the hose that you are talking about , yes the inlet manifold must be removed as this hose is located in the valley of the block under the manifold. I will try and locate some on line pics to show you the exact location.
