1993 camry tail lights don't work!

Check whether it has a tail lite relay

checked relay but when i took out the head lamp relay, the tail lights went on then I replaced the head lamp relay and had both tail and head lights, but when i hit the laft directional, the tail lights went out again. Have not got them to go back on yet.
