1993 Camry driev shaft issue

hello !!

Did you installed brand new shafts or remanufactured?

sometimes the ball joints are too tight that the "balls" on the racers get "stuck" and its really hard to transfer the power to the wheels (once on angle)..

looks hard to believe but that happens to me one time i bought a pair of "brand new" made in China drive shafts, I installed them and I can`t even turn the wheel to tight the allen screws!! I took them out and found that the steel balls wont "fit" on the racers! I had to use a moto-tool to "grind" the racers and make it fit.. after that problem fix!
after that I don`t trust those "China" replacement parts!!

find that and let us know!!

Yes I think they are made in China ( which is for sure) or they are remanufactured. So i think i have to take it back and get them to change them.

I also have started having 2 other problems with it.

1) is that recently when i leave the car in the cold,, like in an open parking lot for a long time like for an 8 hours work, when i start the car and try to drive away right away, the steering wheel gets tight,, or it doesn't turn to one side,, so when you try to trun the wheel,, it doesnt turn the wheel,, as if it is stuck,, but after a while,(like when the car is warm and ready to go) the problem is resolved and there is no problem driving.

2) the gas/milage ratio has increased dramatically, so it actually takes 18 litres/ 100 Km. (I do metric since i am canadian) :) i think it is 4.5 gal/60 miles.

What could that be? I have new wires and sparks plugs that i changed myself recently.

Hello Ben !!

Well it looks like the power steering pump its not working right..
check all the hoses for "bending" (restricted flow) make sure that the level its right and check if in the reservoir the fluid has "Bubbles" on it that indicates air in the system also check for leaks on the system.

about the poor gas mileage...

Make check the cat. converter, correct tire pressure, clean injectors, distributor cap and rotor, could be a lot of things...

start checking those..
