I got a small leak in the front windshield. Since it is a pretty old car, I would like to lift the trim and put down some silicone caulk in the area. It is leaking at the top of the passenger side just enough to get the header wet but it doesn't drip. Could this work or must I get the whole thing replaced. I really want to know...what is the right tool for this model to remove the trim?

Thanks,
Bill

Hi Bill,

The windshield mouldings are clipped on with some areas being held in place by sealants.

If you can pump some silicone or haemetite sealants into the slots between the mouldings, it might stop the leak. If there is no rusting of the body work, this might work.

Thanks

I thought it would be a futile effort just to caulk over the trim, but I'll give it a try and see what happens.
