car wont start engine cranks but wony start.seemed to be the fuel pump but on investigation i found it was blowing the 30 amp fuse marked as am2 in the fuse box.i replaced the fuel pump to see if that would change things but no.it is still blowing fuses as soon as the ignition is turned to the on position.i can't even do the tests from the haines manuel because of this.it was running fine and then one day i went out to start it and now its a paper weight.

Hi 4malted, Welcome to 2carpros and TY for the donation

You have a tough problem here that could require more testing and time, I viewed the EWD and its a mess worst than a spaghetti in sauce -you gonna be burning fuses left and right, depends on your electrical competencies

Okay replace the fuse as you go-I want you to unplug the airflow meter and turn the key on-did it blow-let me know

Hi 4malted, Can you try this. It may or may not work. Let me know what happens. It might be a shorted/fried condenser that is inside of the distributor & mounts with a small screw from the outside. This is the only thing that I know which blows the 30 amp am2 fuse. Otherwise, I do not know the answer either. Condenser with a short brown wire. Toyota part number 19133-16240 ($5 to $10 dealer)
