Drive Train Axles Bearings problem
1991 Toyota Camry 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual
----------------------------------------------------------------
Now that I have read three repair manuals and have seen three different illustrations on how to do this procedure the axle will not separate from the transaxle.
ALLDATA shows "popping"/ prying with a lug wrench. Haynes states that I have to remove the bolts (none present on the shaft).
Chilton's shows bolts but there are none on the shaft. The only bolts are on the transaxle. The inner hub behind the CVCC joint prevents their removal. I think they are a retainer for the seal.
The illustration shows a spring retainer clip on the shaft. Is that the only thing holding the spline end to the transaxle?
Since there are no visible bolts, how much effort is needed to pry off, brake free or remove the transaxle?
