I recently got a 1990 Toyota Camry.I always noticed it has a hard time getting up hills. It seems to go slow.My son and I were on the highway going up a mountain.I don't know if this caused what ever is wrong but to get up the mountain my son was flooring it.We were still only going about 50 mph.I told him to take his foot off of the gas because it seems like the tranny wasn't shifting. He did but a few seconds later we started to hear a clicking sound. It seemed to come from the passengers side near the wheel. The car stalled. He restarted it but every time he took his foot off the gas it would stall again. The clicking got louder as we were going. We were able to get off the highway.Eventually we heard a pop, the car died, and that was it.It wouldn't start again.Doesn't even try to turn over.Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

Do you hear the fuel pump come on? If not block open the airflow meter vane flap do you hear it now? If not test the EFI relay, Circuit Opening relay and the airflow meter.
