A few days ago, the charge battery light came, we bought a new battery, which it needed regardless, because it was so old. Obviously that didn't work, and we ended up replacing he alternator also... We were able to drive it a couple days, and today the charge light came back on... what else could it be? There isn't any white corrosion, on the cables and posts, but they are rather yucky... could that be all it is? Or is there something else we aren't seeing going on?

Hook up a voltmeter on the battery record the voltage-now start the vehicle read the voltage again-is it the same as before the engine is started-if so there's hole behind the alternator stick a thin metal object to ground the tab-if voltage increases replace the regulator-what you're doing here is bypassing the regulator making the alternator put out everything its got-
