Just had all 4 struts replaced on my 2000 Avalon and any bump or waves in the road produce a rubbing or scraping sound. Not like a metal on metal scraping - but some type of friction. My Avalon used to be the quitest ride and it no longer is. Garage that ionstalled the Monroe Sensa-trac struts said there is nothing wrong with the installation.
I also had a wrheel alignment done at the same time as recommended. What are they missing?

When the yreplaced the struts they bent the thin metal shield that protects the rotor from road dirt. Take the wheel off and bend this thin metal shield away from the rotor a little bit until it quits rubbing.

Just a long shot but have you checked the motor mounts. My 1999 Avalon is very noisy especially in winter with all kinds of sounds that noone can ever find not even the dealer. Good luck
